    • July 31: The Nazis become the largest party in the Reichstag again, but they still do not have a majority.

    • November 6: In the Reichstag elections, the Nazi Party loses seats but remains the largest party.

    • December 2: President Hindenburg appoints Hitler as Chancellor for the second time, believing he can be controlled by conservative forces.
