Multitasking has been my life for ages. But, after reading the articles, I realized that multitasking is not good which I shall change it starting right now. If I do study, I concentrate first on studying a task or a lesson. If I concentrate on YouTube, I must concentrate on YouTube. If I focus on one social media platform, I must focus on one social media platform. Balance is important.

After juggling a lot of tasks this year, I can honestly say that multitasking does not work. What does work is focusing your energies on one task first and then taking breaks in between. However, we've all fallen for the social media form of break and the articles really talk about its ineffectiveness to get us to focus and concentrate.

As a teacher, it is important for our lessons to have 'brain breaks' and mindfulness exercises so that our students can tune in to our learning and be focused. When we work, we should do the same and not neglect our own mental wellbeing.

Stop multitasking now

In today's busy world, it is very tempting to multitask. I used to think that multitasking made me more productive. However, after this lesson, I realized how multitasking actually made me unproductive and inefficient at accomplishing my tasks. I realized that multitasking actually diminishes not only my productivity but my performance and the quality of my output. Furthermore, it actually lengthens the amount of time to finish one task or project. Multitasking is tricking ourselves into thinking that we are actually doing more or accomplishing more but in reality it is just making you less efficient.

Saori B.

There are so many tasks to be accomplished by the end of the day, that is why some people multitask to get the job done but in the end they accomplish nothing. Giving focus to several tasks that exhausts our body and brain. It is not a healthy habit that is why I stopped doing it. I only focus and finish one thing at a time and in the end I gain a sense of satisfaction.
