The senators slain Caesar because they were afraid he was going to turn Rome back into a monarchy. But because Caesar was so popular, it backfired because of how upset the Plebeians were over the death of Caesar. I also learned about SPQR, or the Senatus Populesque Romanus, or the People and Senate of Rome. How people elect their leaders instead of blood or through family. Republic, or public representatives is now the new government. Also, the Triumvirate, the 3 people who were there to balance out the power throughout Rome
