The Average commute time in tokyo is an hour and a half each day, because of how dense the population is. But Tokyo has become efficient in transportation, the use of subways is huge in Tokyo. People called "Pushers" push as many people in the subway cars as possible, this makes commuting fast and on time. How fast? Some bullet trains in Tokyo can travel up to, 180 mph. But problems have occurred because more and more people want to drive cars which have created tons of jams and crashes. Laws have been made to stop these crashes and jams, the only way you can own a car is if you can prove you have a place to park it.

Because of the lack of flat space in Japan most homes are as big as family rooms in America. This was not always the case for a long period of time Japan was rural so most people lived in one story homes with family and extended family. Today most people live with just immediate family because of the lack of space. Just because space is limited doesn't mean it's uncomfy, futons are hiding in closets and everything is smaller. When people garden its usually bonsi trees which are only a couple inches tall. Even the cemeteries are full so people have been asked to cremate bodies so it takes up less space.

Some people are not happy about limited space, threatening to burn down houses if buildings and airports are built. Conflicts are not uncommon in Japan. Because the land doesn't fit everyone's needs so they have decided to build up. Buildings in Tokyo are very tall because there isn't enough space to build out, but because Japan is in such an Earthquake zone every building has to be Earthquake safe.
Japan is running out of space because of this they will do anything to make space which means filling in shallow lakes and wetlands with rubble and dirt.

Every cookie package is individually wrapped in then wrapped again in a box this is one example of why Japan is so stuck in trash. Pollution is another problem because of the population, air people breathe and companies that produce gas and even more pollution. Acid rain falls among the cities in earlier years toxic chemicals were dumped in the rivers and oceans. This killed off fish and everyone who ate them. There are other problems in small countries and towns such as more accidents and diseases spreading more quickly. Japan has overcome these issues by creating laws to keep the air and water clean and safe.

Japan has found ways despite the population density to keep waters clean, space manageable, air fresh, and still be one of the wealthiest countries. Japan deals well with its population but not all places do, places like singapore and Bangladesh are more populated but deal with population in different ways. These places are very populated because of location and resources, the more resources the more jobs they create and north of the equator is almost always nice weather. Over all the government is the biggest influence on weather a country does well or not.
