In this second example, I'm exploring the idea of cities of the future that will need to be resilient to rising sea levels and climate change. How can we design a city that can respond to the impacts of climate change? How will cities adapt to rising sea levels? Will parts of our cities operate underwater in the future? This generative AI prompt started with "Future city that responds to rising sea levels through responsive and resilient designs that can be submerged in water with zero emissions, solar-powered underwater transportation and sustainable design".

I used Dall-e-2 to render this image of a futuristic city focused on restorative design in the urban environment. In my prompt I asked for a reference to a 'solar punk' aesthetic. I like the concept of 'Solar Punk' that has emerged from the cyberpunk genre. It replaces future dystopian tropes with hopeful 'green' ideas that combine creativity and design thinking to imagine a better, more environmentally friendly future.

Hi everyone! To achieve a sustainable future I believe we have to look at the past and possibly return to living as we did generations ago with the addition of new technology. Hello, I'm Emmie and I'm majoring in Digital Culture. My minors are in photographic practice, and game art and animation. I have previously studied interior and spatial design at Griffith but had to transfer universities as they stopped doing the classes online. AI is a tool that I don't have a lot of experience using, but I'm interested to see ways that we can work with it since it is becoming more prevalent. The prompt engineering for my image took a while, but I managed to reduce it to "vertical building with doctor clinic and a food market, wind turbines and food gardens." I was trying to showcase a future in which we have designed ourselves small community hubs that provide access to necessary amenities like healthcare, food, and housing. I wanted to include the use of efficient public transit, as well as rising sea levels but it was a little difficult to fit that all in there. I used craiyon to generate this image.
