Spies were very important during WW2 because if they got this information, it could help them win battles, prevent major accidents, and know what the enemy planned. The majority of spies were not people of the same country that wanted to spy another country. Instead, they were people from the country that was going to be spied. Well, some people did it for money and others weren't happy with something that their country was doing.  They had their own personal reasons for betraying their own country.
