There are a lot of different types of learning disabilities and it is harder to identify students with intellectual and learning disabilities than it is to notice someone with down's syndrome and autism. There are a lot of factors that go into getting a student listed as LD and you have to to through the government in order to get it completed. There are a lot of techniques in helping students in these cases but a lot of them seem to be common; such as, have a consistent schedule, use visuals, ensure they are able to communicate with their peers appropriately.

Instead of saying this is due Tuesday I will give them time and say that it is due by the test that way they aren't overly anxious about losing points if the work isn't finished immeadiately and they can process it in their own time.

Have a reward system set up classwide that if they follow classroom rules they will recieve a prize at the end of class, whether it's a small piece of candy or something more.
