An adult Caretta Caretta measures on average 90 cm in length and has an average weight of 135 kg. It reaches sexual maturity between 17 and 33 years old and its average life expectancy varies between 47 and 67 years. Females spawn on average four times between June and September, and then go through a period of two to three years without spawning.
Currently, this is the only species in the genus Caretta. It spends most of its life in marine and estuarine habitats, and females only return to the beach to spawn.

The association carries out educational activities to raise environmental awareness, instilling in the community a sustainable spirit, in which the preservation of the environment can be promoted.
In order to keep the beaches clean, the association's members meet regularly with volunteers and children from the community to collect garbage, reusing some of the materials for different purposes, including the construction of trash buckets to put on the beaches.

We have also set dates to make meetings with students to divulgate this specie into our ecosystem.
