Unfortunately due to scheduling, managing and planning issues I was not able to complete the Wall Ball Court

Despite this, I still wanted to create a project that revolved around designing something, as that is an essential aspect of being an architect 

So I decided to commit to creating a Basketball Court for St. Aidan’s School

The reasons for constructing this project remains relatively the same 

I want to create a place for the community where people can interact with each other and socialize while also allowing kids to get good exercise 

 This would also improve my architectural, building and managing skills, as I can use architecture as a possible major in the future  

While Wall Ball has been very impactful on my life, playing Basketball has been as well

During the Lockdown, my brother and I decided to put up a basketball hoop on our garage

Little did I know that we would use this hoop everyday through quarantine, as it created an area to distract ourselves from reality and it gave a us purpose for improvement, while having fun outdoors

Through this project, I was able to learn the hardships of putting together and managing a project 

I realized that you can not procrastinate when you are trying to get a project completed, as you really need to push and hustle towards your goals 

If you do not, you will eventually start to cram last minute, which creates stress and     work that is not done in full potential 

Not only does a project like this need to accommodate your time, but others as well

Not only this, but I realized how important physical fitness has impacted my life, giving me a purpose and goals to strive for

Because of the importance fitness has on me, I am happy to try to give it back to the community

Obviously, you cannot play basketball without a basketball 

As a result, I decided to denote basketballs to St. Aidan’s School 

During my time at St. Aidan’s the recess equipment was always run down, would get lost and was rarely renewed

Because of this, I decided to donate equipment in order to create a better experience for kids that are currently there

The cost of the balls will be around $60

This is the list of equipment I will be using to create the court 

The spray paint and duct tape will be used to create the lines for the court

The circular saw with the diamond blade will be used to break up the asphalt for the base of the basketball hoop

The concrete, wheelbarrow and shovel will be used to create a base for the basketball hoop

The total cost of this is $2425 so I need to raise some money

 I was able to buy the saw, spray paint and bags of concrete

I decided to raise money by creating a bake sale

The location of this bake sale was at Mineola Memorial Park

To promote the bake sale I created an Instagram and Snapchat post on my story to tell people to come to the park

The post not only attracted people to buy the food, but give donations of sweet treats as well 

At the end, I was able to generate a hundred and eight dollars ($108)

All of the desserts there were between one dollar to two dollars

This will be one of many bake sales as I emailed the St. Aidan’s Rectory to schedule bake sales in front of St. Aidan’s Church on mass days through email

Besides the bake sale, I also started a GoFundMe page

To promote it, I made a post of my social media pages and that gave a link to my GoFundMe

I also sent it to my family, relatives and friends and told them to make a post and send it to their others friends

I set the goal for a thousand dollars ($1,000) in order to gain leverage in completing the project 

So far, I have made two hundred fifteen dollars  ($215)

This is the email that was made between me and the principal of the school to schedule a meeting in order to discuss project ideas

At the meeting, we discussed various projects that can be completed surrounding physical activity, while walking around looking at areas that need to be remodeled or fixed 

I then proposed the idea of a basketball court and she thought it was a great idea

We then went to back of the play area and mapped our where we will be conducting the project 

St Aidan’s just recently decided to move the recess location to the back of the school, so there is not many structures or designated areas to play in

The addition of the basketball would create another fun activity to do during recess while also making the school look more stylish

This is the current recess area for the students currently at St. Aidan’s 

I will build the court in the corner of recess area, where the Charity box is located now

The dimensions of the court will be High School instead to Middle School

By doing so it will help them practice for the next level of basketball

This is a  memoir for my Great Grandfather who died two years ago

He bought this because he wanted it to represent his Eagle Scout Ranking his archived in Boy Scouts 

My Great Grandfather always talked about how impactful Boy Scouts was and how we wanted me to become an Eagle as well

As a result I decided to join the Boy Scouts 

Because of my Great Grandfather’s advice join, I have made many memories and friends through my Scouting career

By completing this project, as my Eagle Scout Project, I will have achieved want he wanted me to become

This is a signed letter of approval by my Scout Master to initiate the project 

The letter of approval is required to start my Eagle Scout Project, as without it, my service work will not count towards the requirement in order to become an Eagle Scout

After the letter has been signed, I can then start the steps and count the service hours in order to fulfill the Eagle requirement 

In the letter, I included a description of what I will be doing, how I will do it and what is needed to complete it

This letter will also be required for my Eagle Presentation which is where I will show all the photos and describe the process that I did during my project
