Elene Ejigu grew up not knowing English. She went to school at a very young age and never knew English. She always asked her mom if there were any other languages. She thought to herself that if she moved to the United States if they would judge her on how she speaks. In a place to call home it said that "56% say that the U.S should expect all immigrants to learn English"

When Elene Ejigu was a teen she began to be very mean to everybody, when her father passed. To her, losing both parents made her paranoid. Her mother didn't know anyone in the U.S so then Elene and her sister became very depressed. She loved her mom so much that she begged her not to leave. She was angry and confused. When she seen her cousins, friends with their parents she became very depressed. She understood that things happen and she knows her dad is in a good place. She became happy and she graduated. Her mom then showed up at her graduation and she said it was emotional and she said that she will never forgive her mother.
