A love story between Danny and Sandy at the beach, the end coming when summer ends. The two are from two different backgrounds of being a leader of the "T-Birds" gang and upper class, goody-two-shoes. Fate lands the love story back at Rydel high school, which comes to question Danny's reputation with his friend than with Sandy.  There becomes a question between the two of what each other do. Does Danny become a jock or does Sandy through the goody-too-shoes out the door and become a Pink Lady. We see this fight for each others attention with Danny first as he is tries sports. He gets exactly what he wants Sandy except for making a slip up in the drive-in movie theater. We see Sandy all alone in the big race in the thunder road and with it a decision and the help the Pink Ladies. The Rydel Senior Carnival everything is brought together, as we see Danny in his lettermans' jacket in track and Sandy in leather outfit with completely switching their roles for each other. Students get the understanding that going to class impacts the future. Where we see with Sonny who is nervous in the conversation with Principle McGee. Resulting in the atmosphere of students needing to be in class as that is the import detail of getting their diploma.
2) Appropriate actions as we see at the dance with the competition on TV where there was the selection of those who couldn't dance but also inappropriate dancing. There brings also the attention of drug and alcohol as it is not wanted to be done within the schools. Resulting really wanting to push the limits as we see individuals doing the inappropriate dancing as well as pouring the alcohol into the punch or smoking at school. 
3) The school puts forth the attitude of do what you want to do and not letting something get in your ways. The school lets the students pick were they want to sit at school but also giving them the chance to do shop or an assortment of classes. Teacher: Mrs. Murdock who wants to see her students not only be the best they can be but doing what they want. Making sure that they know she is proud of them even it if their trouble makers.

Meaning an actual individual because they need to do things that they love to do or find the things they are good at.
