China is in Asia and the fourth biggest country in the world with an absolute location of 35.8617° N, 104.1954° E. China's relative location is south of Russia and north east of India. The most popular language spoken in China is Mandarin (Pu ton hua) A positive impact of this location is that two huge natural barriers protected China from invaders for a long time. A negative impact is that if you lived in the mountains or the desert you have less access to communication and trade. Living in natural barriers is also much harder than living in any other landform because deserts have barely any water and living in mountains is hard to travel on foot.

The climates China has are very diverse and include tropical, desert, mountainous, and coastal. Some drawbacks are that the desert and mountain climates are very difficult to live with. Living there would cause a decrease in agriculture, so they won't supply the population with enough food. This makes the civilization get smaller and weaker. Mountains and deserts also take up 70 percent of China, so if only 30 percent of China are able to provide enough food for themselves, China will have to rely on other countries.

Some of the natural resources found in China are coal, iron ore, petroleum, and others. These natural resources help society by being the fuel of generating electric power; they also power cars and are used to make plastic. China can also sell the resources for profit. Negative impacts are that some natural resources are nonrenewable, which means that the resources will run out someday. Mining for these oils or minerals can cause loose soil, which can cause land slides, and waste left after rare earth elements are separated from the ore contains salts, chemicals, and radioactive materials. The waste can also leak into and contaminate water sources. This results in different types of cancer. Cancer is fatal and has high chances of causing death, so China's population will decrease dramatically if no one cares about the pollution.

This benefits China because trade and transportation are very important in human society, so being able to have access to many different types of transportation allows more trade for profit. A good impact road freight has is better market access for businesses. A negative impact is air pollution, and China is the thirteenth most air polluted country in the world, which isn't good at all because there are 194 countries total in the world.

Two landforms in China are the Gobi desert and the Himalayan mountains. They greatly affect the population and resources. For example, the Gobi desert is a very hot and dangerous landform because there is barely any rainfall and excessive sunlight, so living there would be difficult. The Himalayas are also impacting a lot of civilizations by decreasing transportation and communication for the people who live there. In the mountains, it is cool and windy, and the air is thin; this means that it is hard to breathe up there. On the other hand, the Gobi desert has little rainfall, extreme temperatures, limited agriculture, and isolation. This causes many difficulties to the people who live there.
