He is a very understanding person who teaches very big moral lesson to the rest of the Maycomb community to not judge based on what you see, but to understand what is actually going on. From experience he has learned to always put himself in others shoes to not rely on his perspective and evidence but also see what goes on in another's person shoes. He is very understanding and always wants people to not speak and gossip unless it is the truth and not influenced by perspective. Atticus is able to understand others and gives examples of his wisdom, when he speaks for those that are in actual need or he knows the actual events and actions which lead toward ignorance. He is very kept to himself and always observes making his conclusions with evidence and truth. Scientists believe in actual physical things while religion depicts spirituality and a mighty being that is not visible but cannot be explained by science. This is a bigger case of truth vs. perspective as there is no official scientific evidence that god exists, but the perspective that believers have in an almighty being may prove otherwise.
