Continuing with social relations in China, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge one of the darker aspects of Chinese culture: China's history of anti-Blackness. I don't do this to condemn China as racist, but to acknowledge the lives and culture of Black Chinese residents. Here's another article that gives insight into what China's anti-Black racism looks like in the present day: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/02/us/politics/african-americans-china-coronavirus.html. This last article has less to do with China as it does Asian Americans in general, but here's a more positive description of African and Asian relations in the US: https://www.vox.com/22321234/black-asian-american-tensions-solidarity-history.
