<title>The Queen bee and the worker bee are very different, the queen bees job is to lay eggs and in some colonies, leave and start a new colony. The worker bee has a completely different role in the hive, they are all females and instead of just one there are 40,000 to 50,000 in a colony. They build the honey comb with wax produced from their bodies, collect pollen to make honey, and collect a sticky substance called propolis, to repair cracks in the hive. The queen and worker bees of a hive are different anatomy wise too, a queen bee is the only female in the hive that can reproduce, a worker bee cannot. Worker bees have pollen sacs to collect pollen and bring it back to the hive, queen bees also live longer than worker bees and is the highest social class while worker bees live shorter lives and are the lowest social class.</title>

<title>Beeswax and honeycombs are very important in a worker bees life, beeswax is a yellow substance produced by glands on the undersides of of the abdomen in the worker honey bee, when it is produced the wax oozes from the side of the side of the bee in scales and the worker picks it off from their sides. Bees wax is used in cosmetics, chewing gum, adhesives, candles, lubricants, and polishes. Honeycombs are a group of six sided compartments, cells, and in the cells it holds nectar from flowers collected by worker bees, where water evaporates until there is less than 19% of water left then it becomes honey. </title>

<title>Swarming happens when a colony has to many worker bees and only one queen bee and the worker bees cannot access her and when they can&#39;t access her they are unable to receive her &quot;queen pheromones&quot;. When they do not receive the pheromones it is like the queen doesn&#39;t exist, a colony cannot survive without a queen. The pheromone attracts the workers bees to the queen and encourages them to build the comb, forage, and tend to the brood. A new queen bee must emerge so, when a new queen comes the old one leaves and the rest of the colony goes with her creating the swarm</title>

<title>Bees are insects that contribute to us as humans and to other predators, they are on the food chain still, they have to feed something. Their main enemies are skunks, bears, raccoons, mice, pesticides, yellow jackets, wasp species, wax worms, beetles, and parasitic mites. Animals usually only grab honey but sometimes skunks will stay to eat the brood and some adult bees.Pesticides kill bees in mass amounts making humans their main reason of their close extinction, the most used pesticide in America it is killing bees by the minute. If a beetle gets into a comb and they lay eggs their larvae will kill and destroy the whole comb, when a parasitic mites gets into the brood it spreads and kills the whole hive</title>

<title>Stung relates to bees in the way that they have social structures like we do as humans and in the book when they have the people who live inside the wall, the beasts, and the militia. The honeycomb and beeswax is the roles of the social classes and their jobs. Swarming is like the swarm of beasts in the book and how they move in a swarm like bees. The enemies of bees are humans and how they are becoming extinct now and in the book they are extinct. </title>
