The more trees that get cut down the less oxygen because trees take in carbon dioxide and let out oxygen and that hurts the human and the environment. That is the connection between economic benefits and deforestation.

Madysen, please see me.
- Ms. Mackin

Also when you cut down the trees you can use that land for farming and live stock which would be used for food. That wood would be used for many things like I said in my examples. When food and crop prices go up, that means more forests get cut down. Another connection would be when the population starts to grow bigger and there needs to be more places for homes. Which means more wood gets cut down and used for the houses. These are some connections of the benefits of deforestation.

Trish, please see me.
- Ms. Mackin

The connection between deforestation and economic benefits is that you can sell wood. You can sell it to a big building company or to a fire wood company. When forests or just sections of forests are cut down there is more space for cities, meaning more people, meaning higher demands for farming and food. Again, this means more food or wood is sold to big companies, then to the warehouses, then to the stores and restaurants. Another connection would be, the big companies paying the wood cutting companies/businesses to cut down trees and forests for the whole chain of money to begin again. That, is how deforestation and economic bene

Samantha, see me.
- Ms. Mackin

The connection between economic benefits and deforestation is for example: people can cut down trees for clearing land for farm and cattle pastures. With populations rising the need for more food and agricultural products is rising. People cut down more and more trees so they can meet that demand of the population increasing. Another example is when people cut down entire forests so they can make more and more room for houses and factories that are being built. This means that more houses and cities are built due to the economic benefit, deforestation. This explains why deforestation and economic benefits are related.

Excellent job, Sophia!!
10/10 klm

Another other examples could be when people make a dam to create hydro electric power. Or clearing part of a forest for mining or drilling.

The connection between economic and deforestation is you can use the materials that cut down during deforestation such as wood. Then you can use that wood and build things for houses or buildings. Another example is cutting down forests to make farmland. However, we can use that farmland to feed and help the growing population. If you have cut down a large section of land it could be used for something great in return. In the article, they said that loggers are clearing more than 100,000 miles for roads that can be used for buildings or companies of some sort. Finally, if they are cutting down a lot of forests they can be hurting animal habitats but they can also be building new things that are good for animals (like animal sanctuaries).

Excellent work, Dylan.
10/10 klm

The connection between economic benefits and deforestation are that people need deforestation to make crops, so they chop down trees to make space for farms, as the population of people increases. Also, when people need to build cities, towns, etc, they cut down trees to make room for them. Trees are not only needed for space, they are needed for materials too. Chopping down trees provides lumber that people need to build. Economic benefits effect forest by deforestation. But, deforestation can also effect economic benefits.
Fires, for example, can not just burn down forests, but can effect the people living in, or around the forest. Also, when chopping down trees, we are letting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, reducing our oxygen and making breathing harder and harder. These pieces of evidence show that economic benefits don't just effect deforestation, but deforestation can effect economic benefits too. This shows how they are related.

Good work, Rosalia!!
10/10 klm
