Aristotle has written the majority of his books during this stay in the Lyceum, it is said that he wrote more than 200 texts but nowadays are only known 31 of them. Aristotle started to write during a crisis period and thanks to his studies he could develop several ideas that nowadays are considered as the pillars of philosophy. One of them is metaphysics, which was developed during an unstable Greece's period, there were conflicts related to the political model the city was managing, that lead to a social crisis increasing slavery and tensions between wealthy and poor people.
Specifically, metaphysics has been a really strong basis to develop theories such as hylomorphism and the division between the different types of science, such as biology, physics, politics (which is a human science)and logic, etc. Aristotle's ideas are still valid and are tough as the "First Philosophy".

Thanks to the difference that existed in that time between men and women, when was considered that women weren't able to do many things, Epicurus of Samos decides to create his own school called The Garden, where he accepted everyone who wanted to learn his theories, included men women and even children. Those theories were in their majority developed by taking as base the atomic theory from Democritus, which consist in believing in a materialist world. Later, Epicurus developed his own train of thought called Hedonism, which is explained deeply in the book.
Basically, "The Art of Happiness" and Hedonism would currently help people to understand how to attain happiness and peace without suffering (ataraxia), being autonomous on the path for achieving desires without the need of an external being (god)to interfere or regulate it.

Plotinus is known because of his humble personality and humanitarian sense, thank to his studies and his references(Plato and Aristotle), he developed Neoplatonism which was really important in the flourish of theories such as unity and moral. The Enneads are a compilation of Plotinus' texts collected by Porfirio who was one of his students, in this books, Plotinus emphasized cosmology, moral, sensitive world, the study of time, etc. He also developed the study of the soul (Pneuma) and the intellect (Logos), taking into account The One, which is his mover.
In particular, the main thesis of the Enneads is that evil exists thanks to the absence of good. This theory had an influence on Christianity because it helped to explain what is good or wrong inside the religion. Despite Neoplatonism being a philosophical school, is also considered a kind of religion thanks to its support on The One.

This dialogue was written at the same time he wrote The Republic, which is another of his most important books. Plato also developed before the emerging of his theory of forms, which means this process of writing helped him to acquire a basis to subsequently have his own train of thoughts.
The book has been recognized in different areas such as in poetry with Conrad Ferdinand, in painting with Anselm Feuerbach, and even in scientific aspects with Sigmond Freud. This due to the quality of the poetry that Plato managed and his position about love, which has generated several debates.
