I am grateful that all the objectives are fulfilled by the end of my hairdresser course.

I have enjoyed the whole project since I love playing with hair since my teenage years. Thus, having this opportunity to learn more about hair styling and cutting hair techniques is really beneficial for me. 

The hardest part of this is having to divide the hair into a few segments which work differently on different people and it will definitely affect the results of the hair styles if I did it wrongly. Another part that makes me exhausted by the end of the week is I had to stand through the whole class and it causes me to have a real back pain. However I hope that I could do better if I practice more by taking customers in the future as my side income. 

I believe that I have improved my skills in washing and cutting hair. I could apply them and cut people’s hair but only use a simple techniques. I successfully did manicure and pedicure on my sister's nails which she was very satisfied with my skills. I believe I had learn so many things during my whole Elective posting. 

I am satisfied with my communication skills as I had made some friends during my class. The only thing I believed I should improved is my time management during my class. I had difficulty in learning more skills in a day because one styles requires a half day to learn. However, at the end of my posting I realized that I had learn so much thing despite having difficulties in time management

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)
My techniques and skills in baking have improved tremendously. I have grabbed well all those little little tips in baking from my supervisor which I was able to incorporate in my baking. Decorating the cakes has really worked out in my favour as I was able to bring my creative ideas onto the cakes and it turns out to be good.

5. What can be improved in this project?
I would love to improve my time management skills. Eventhough I am better in managing time now than before, I feel there is always a room for improvement. Thus, I hope I can work more in this skill so I can be benefited in many ways.

The explanation from my 선생님 in every lecture is really good and im able to rewatch it multiple times to make me familiar with the words.

What can be improved in this project?
I would say the time management for myself as I was given 5 weeks from Yonsei University for me to complete the course. However, i have to complete the course within 4 weeks given from UKM. I am beyond grateful that I manage to do that.

Yes, I would say that the objectives of my project have been fulfilled. I can speak basic Mandarin sufficiently for self-introduction and situational speaking, form simple sentences, understand some words, phrases and short sentences, as well as develop better understanding of the pinyin system

I really enjoyed learning how to say certain illnesses in Mandarin because I think that would be the most useful for me as a medical student. I am excited to practice more with my patients when the time comes.

The most challenging part for me was getting used to a new language. Compared to Malay and English which I have learned and spoken almost all my life, Mandarin was new to me and I only had 4 weeks to learn it. The pronunciations for me were especially hard but with time and practice, I have started to get the hang of it.

What really worked for me was finding additional materials to learn the language and practicing with my sister. Eventhough the materials on coursera were great and helpful, i cannot depend on it alone. I still needed to find outside help if I really wanted to familiarise myself with the language 

I think this project can be improved if I had a few more students doing the same course on coursera with me so that we can practice together. This way, we can identify each other’s strengths and weaknesses and improve together

Being able to set my schedule according to my free time has helped me tremendously in practising the guitar well. I dont feel too stressed out and i can learn on my own pace. 

I think this project can be improved if i had more time since its only 4 weeks, hence i had to cramp up all the lessons and pick and choose which one to learn because i haven’t had enough time. Otherwise, everything else is fine. 

Yes, I will definitely say my targeted objectives for this elective posting were fulfilled. My objectives were pretty simple which is able to read, write and communicate basic Korean language. Now, I will proudly say i have learned all the necessary knowledge including the Korean grammar and sentence structures for one to be a basic Korean speaker. However, I am aware that everything i have learned are just the basics and I have a lot more to explore in this language. So my plan is to keep practicing whatever I have leant in this 4 weeks, so that the knowledge i have attained so far will not fade away while waiting for me to take up the intermediate and advance level of Korean language study in the future.

One thing that I liked the most by doing this project is that I did not waste my holidays being unproductive like I did for the previous holidays. By doing this work, my holidays was fully occupied and kept me hectic. In addition, during this 4-week posting, I realised taking up a course and learning something new actually makes me feel happy especially by learning this Korean language. This is because I always wanted to travel to Korea. I would love to sit together with their locals and talk about their culture and lifestyle. So now, by knowing some basics of this language, I can connect myself with them and learn better about them. I am so happy and grateful for picking up Korean language to be done as elective posting.

Korean words pronunciations are really tough and challenging than I thought. Although I have completed my week 4, yet I still struggle to properly pronounce the Korean words. This is because in Korean, some words will have exactly same characters but different pronunciation depends on the usage in a sentence. This part of the journey in learning Korean language was the toughest for me. To overcome the mispronunciations, I will do some notes for myself to refer so that i will not get confused. The notes that I have made will also be helpful for me to learn advanced Korean in the future.

I planned to fully memorise the Korean alphabets by the end of week 2. This is because I felt that the alphabets are the basics for me understand and remember Korean words better later on. My plan was a success! Only because I memorised all the alphabets in Hangul by Week 2, I managed to do better in my week 3 and week 4. During these last 2 weeks, I did not get a mark lower than 100% for the quizzes. That reflects the plan that i have made worked out and helped a lot for my learning in those week 3 and week 4.

I think it will be better if the course is a live, interactive course. This is because I completed my whole learning experience online with the pre-recorded lecture videos. This made me feel doubtful of what I am learning. By conducting everything online with no 2-way communication, we will not know which is right and wrong. Thankfully I have a few friends from Korea who can correct my mistakes when i refer to them via Instagram. So I think in future I will take up a course where I can have a 2-way communication learning to attain maximum and accurate knowledge.
