This was a great book. I definitely recommend it for incoming 3rd graders. I enjoyed the book and to make it better, after you read the book you can watch the movie. Even though I'm saying all of this, it's not my favorite book. But I did still enjoy it. Just to say, Kate DiCamillo is not my favorite author. I rate this book 4 stars.

Looking at the cover of this book, it may seem interesting but it's not good. I definitely don't like it. I think my classmates agree with me. The book was kind of boring and not something I really enjoyed. It wasn't a book that I was excited about and wanted to read ahead. If I were you, I'd save my time and read something else. I rate this book 2 and a half stars.

I really liked this book because I really like books that have animals in it. My favorite part in this book is when they couldn't find winn-dixie but she was actually just under the chair in Gloria Dump's kitchen which was really surprising and when that happened I thought winn-dixie was actually lost. I didn't like this book. I didn't like this book because I really don't understand why Rob would want to free a wild tiger. If the tiger lasted longer without getting killed he could have hurt, killed, or even could have damaged peoples belongings or could have damaged peoples homes. I also didn't like the movie. This movie was almost the same thing as the book so I didn't like the movie because of the same reason I did not like the book. My over all rating over this whole book would probably have to be a 2 out of 5 stars.

Overall, The Trumpet of the Swan was very good. I definitely recommend it to all people. Everything in the book made sense to me and I wanted to read more. My favorite character was Louis because he couldn't communicate but he learned how to use a trumpet just so he could. 4.5 stars.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is a funny book. There was a lot of laughter through the classroom when we were reading. The book was one I recommended and I think you would enjoy it. Even though there were many parts of the book that were funny, I've read better. I'm not saying this was a horrible book, it's just not on the top of my list. I rate it 3 stars.

Heroes is a good book because it is an action book. I love action books because they bring suspense. It is sad in some parts like when brooks die. He was killed by a Japanese plane at pearl Harbor. Frank and Stanley find him with a bullet hole in his chest. It is sad in some parts and happy and others that makes it a good book. I recommend it.

In the book Heroes, there are many things that show symbolism. For example, the heroes that Frank and Stanley are making and thinking of. A book that has a great theme that we read this year is Heroes. The theme is survival. The characters have to survive during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Some characters, like the protagonist, help people who are capable of dying at any second. The rescued people even though it was dangerous. They risked their lives for others. Heroes has a very important theme.

In the book Lemonade wars in my opinion I think the theme is love because Even helps his sister and sticks up for her. And I think the other theme is sibling rivalry because Even and Jessie fight.

One of my favorite books used to be Amelia Bedelia. It was so entertaining and I read all of the books that I could. It was very entertaining, fun, and made me laugh when Amelia took things so literally. I loved this book.

Bunnicula is a very scary book it's about a bunny that's actually a vampire it's very interesting how the cat is observant enough to realize that but the dog is the main character of the story obviously he's the one who's basically the the whole story so to me that's a small reason why that the main character it's very cool how do you describe the animals and they give them names like Bunnicula for the bunny and how they treat the animals like humans it's very interesting and that's why I like this book

The Trumpet of the Swan is a good book. It's also silly because a swan goes to school and learns to write. It's a good book.

One of my favorite characters that are in a book we read this year is Rachel. She is in the story Eleven. I like her because of her traits. She is struggling on her eleventh birthday. At first, she's disappointed that she doesn't feel eleven. Then, she wants to be older. Finally, she wants to be any age but eleven. I like Rachel so much, I wrote an essay about her.

In the book, "Because of Winn~Dixie, my least favorite character is the preacher, which is Opal's dad. I don't like him because he didn't spend much time with Opal because he was too caught up preaching. Also, Opal didn't even think of him as a dad, and that's why she calls him "the preacher". Even though he's not a horrible character, he still was my least favorite character in BOWD.

My favorite book we read this year is Heroes. One reason is because it's an action-packed book. It's exciting, fun, and interesting. I was so eager to read more. Another reason is, it has a great theme. Survival. The characters have to survive the war. Also, the protagonists helped other people in grave danger, even though it was very dangerous for them. Finally, I like the characters. I absolutely loved this book. I rate it 100 stars.,

This book was weird and confusing. It made no sense. The two only good parts were that it was short, and it was a tiny bit funny. The whole book was just the most brain twisting math problems ever. For example, elf+elf. Who knows that! This book makes me insane. Also, almost all the pages were crazy math problems for me to solve, so I skipped them. There was barely any reading. Dear author, do you call this a book?! I rate this 3 stars.
