For my element presentation, I chose arsenic. Arsenic is something almost everybody knows of. It was the ideal poison for centuries and cemented it's place in history by it's unfortunately toxic uses. Arsenic was used by every class. The likes of Nero have been associated with it but so have painters and artists.Arsenic was versatile, albeit always toxic.

The period 4, group 15 element Arsenic has many traits that made it a preferred material for many different things, from paint or poison.
*Arsenic, when mixed with food or drink, is odorless, tasteless and colorless. This trait was why it was the "king of poisons" or the "poison of kings".*
The form of arsenic used by industry today is gray. Arsenic is thought to be named for its yellow form
The melting point of arsenic is 817 degrees Celsius. The boiling point is 618 degrees.

In fact, one of its most famous (albeit unconfirmed) victims was Napoleon Bonaparte , whose house had Paris green wallpaper. Paris Green and other pigments containing arsenic were used past the Victorian Era.
