I think the hardest part is to create buy in for adults for them to jump into this civic mindedness bandwagon.

While we advocate a, b, c but then we see our own adults doing otherwise the advocacy goes down the drain.

I would like to encourage everyone to start what we want to advocate at home and then carry it out to the world. (Tough but doable💪💪💪💪)

I do think Gen Z teachers may find this exciting though.

As an individual, I need to be aware of what is happening in my surroundings so I can better contribute to my students learning. I should not see this civic engagement as a ‘checklist’ activity. I can value add their learning through small steps such as linking it to my subject matter. Continue to make small steps and be sincere in our approach to civic engagement

Challenge: But the heart work is not easy. It is a tall order to reach when educators in school are fighting battles that are immediate and current (syllabus, results, etc). There is no time and space for teachers and students to deal with challenges that do not directly impact them, yet.
