the maori were also good when making trenches but not when it came to equipment to fight.

The Maori were out number from 5 to 1 .

The Maori made zig zag tipe trench so  that when a bom came on the pah the bom would not kill evryone on the site.
when the battle started about 15 Maori were killed from a shellfire.

the Brits were to far away for the Maori to attack so the hid to make them think they had won and then the Maori started attacking with there spears and and the pakiha where freaked and they did not know were to go because the way they make the pah.

At the end of the battle the Maori gave water to the british and stayed to the letter of conduct.
