This is an interactive writing assessment for this Unit. Your task is to search for one devastating natural or man - made disaster in any part of the world. Have the following information: (1) What was this Natural or Man-made disaster, (2) When and Where did it happen (3) Why did it happen, (4) How did it happen, (5) What was the aftermath of this disaster. Do not forget to add a photo on your post.

The disaster that I'm going to talk about is Earthquake. It usually occur in the early morning and it often happen at the edge of the Pacific Ocean or a phenomena natural disaster like the one in Japan few months ago that shakes the whole building down. A natural thing (I don't really know how it happen). When they grind together, they get stuck and pressure started to build up more causes an earthquake. In the aftermath, there will be causes like ground shaking, tsunamis, fire, landslides and alot more to list

Earthquake - one of the most dangerous natural disasters for a long time. It is one of the biggest problems for the country that has the ring of fire under. It becomes more dangerous because it can happen everytime. So why do we have earthquakes? When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction, there is an earthquake that releases energy in waves that travel through the earth's crust. It is the reason for the shaking which we feel. Earthquakes can cause landslides, cracked soil, tsunamis, false tides, broken dikes, and fires... Construction works are destroyed, leading to much loss of life and property. As we can see, earthquakes are very dangerous for people’s lives. However, let’s make a plan for all the worst problems and not accept earthquakes because all the plans will be needed sometimes.

There are many natural disasters, but sometimes we humans are the ones who create those disasters. In Vietnam, people have experienced 12 storms every year. Damage was estimated at hundreds of millions of VND, truly a terrible disaster.
First, a storm is a state of atmospheric disturbance that causes changes in the atmospheric layers and is classified as a type of extreme weather. Storm is a type of bad weather caused by nature to humans. It happens most in the summer, about 5-6 storms. The main cause of storm formation is analyzed because when sunlight shines on the sea, water evaporates and creates a stream of moist air above the sea surface. When there is a storm, it will have quite strong winds. When the storm gets stronger, very heavy rain will pour down. Rainfall can be up to 600 millimeters, and in mountainous areas there can even be hail and landslides. Talking about its consequences, it makes me faint, damaging houses, damaging facilities, crops and directly affecting people's lives.
Therefore, everyone should always be equipped with storm prevention knowledge and regularly listen to weather forecasts to evacuate promptly.

As natural disasters go, tsunamis are among the worst in terms of overall destruction and loss of life. They rival earthquakes in their ability to suddenly devastate a wide area. In recent years massive tsunamis have caused extensive damage in northern Sumatra and Thailand, parts of Japan's Honshu Island, and parts of Chile. A tsunami is a catastrophic ocean wave that is usually caused by a submarine earthquake, an underwater or coastal landslide, or the eruption of a volcano. Tsunamis can also result from the impact of a meteor or comet in a body of water. The word tsunami in Japanese means “harbor wave.”The most significant distant tsunamis since 1900 originated off Alaska, Chile, Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Russia.A tsunami is a super-sized wave that engulfs and destroys everything it passes through.Because it is one of the most dangerous natural disasters, the consequences of a tsunami are extremely large, causing a lot of damage to people, both physically and mentally.

The devastating natural disaster caused by human is environmental pollution. It is seen to have changed markedly since 2018. Garbage is found everywhere like the sea, on the road, etc. Environmental pollution occurs because science and technology gradually develop and human consciousness gradually weakens. The consequence of this disaster is that in the future, you and future generations will have to live with non-degradable waste.

The disaster that I'm going to talk about is Wildfires. Climate change has seen wildfires become a far more common threat around the world, and 2018 saw huge areas of California affected by some of the worst fires in recent memory,. More than 100 people died in more than 8,500 fires across California, and the fires destroyed more than 24,000 buildings and burned two million acres of land. Most of the fires in California took place in July and August, and the government declared a national disaster. The years that preceded the fires saw an increase in temperatures due to climate change, and that killed plenty of trees in California. Scientists predict that this kind of disaster is only going to become more common because of climate change, so California’s extreme weather may soon feel normal but it will impact human health.
