Shape, we created different shapes to pic from. The first pattern i created was trial and error, I tried a bunch of different ways to see which one I liked. My second time I rotated my shape 90 degrees to get what I used. I earned what a print was, I never have done one before and I had to keep putting marker on my stamp.

Two ways I created a pattern are I used a 90 degrees rotation and turned every time so it would create a flower out of my stamp. This helped me learn that you have to rotate the stamp perfectly in order to get the result that I want. Another way is I could have created a pattern would be to still rotate it 90 degrees but stamp it in another direction to give a new look and another type of pattern. Another thing I did was use geometric and organic shapes to create a design that I wanted to use for stamping. One thing I learned in the process of stamp making was that you have to be very careful when making the stamp and when actually printing, because if you don't then it can mess up the whole design. Overall I really enjoyed doing this project and it was a great new experience for me.

We also used rulers to measure and make perfect lines, and rotated our stamp in a 90 degree angle. As I did this project I realized that it is critical to clean the stamp before changing colors. This way they don't combine on the stamp and make a ugly brown. Overall I enjoyed this project!

Overall I really liked this project! I learned a lot about design and trial/error. My first time carving out my stamp was difficult, and I was frustrated that it didn’t work. My second time however, I succeeded and made a working design! I liked choosing colors that complemented each other, such as the blue and green that goes together, and the orange that makes it pop. In conclusion, this was very informative about printmaking and how it happens.

I made my pattern by carving it on a gum eraser. Then I colored my design with markers. Then pressed my eraser down on the paper in a certain way to get my perfect design. One thing I learned about printmaking is it takes a lot of time and effort. Also you have to have precise angles and measurements to get your design right. This project helped me learn printmaking and the aspects of it.
