Josue supports her claim by first giving a detailed background of Matthew’s life to inform the audience about him, then giving a description of the encounter between Matthew Shepard, Aaron McKinney, and Russell Henderson and the brutal beating that takes place on the night of October 6, 1998, and finally by talking to friends and family of Matthew and residents in Laramie and getting their input on the situation. Josue’s purpose of the documentary is to inform people about Matthew Shepard’s case and the brutality and hate that happens on the night of his death, in an attempt to prevent another hate crime from happening in the future. They support their claim by first using simple but meaningful diction, making the quote short and to the point, and finally using a crown graphic to create the sense of prestige in staying calm. The Ministry of Information’s purpose is to lull the British population into a calm state before the chaos of the war begins, in order to prevent more chaos from arising.
