Marek writes:

" Well first two months were fun – I was getting up later and had less homework. But on the other side it was stressful because sometimes I fell asleep or I forgot to do homework or I was attending lesson in my pajamas - I looked like homeless. But then at the third month of quarantine things started to change - teachers gave us more homework, parents were angry and in some points we couldn’t go out because country was in crisis. In Slovakia we have summer holiday for 2 months but this summer was horrible – almost everything was closed - I mean things like aquapark, fun parks or restaurants. And then in September we could finally go to school , meet with other and life was normal again . But all goods things must once come to end. In the end of October ( I think it was in 25 ) we had to start homeschooling again because a lot of people got sick with corona virus . So we are still in quarantine waiting if we can go to school this year or not - they change it almost every day. First it was ,,children will go to schools on the last weekend of November“ – it didn’t happened. Then they promised we will go to school December 7th – I really hope we will go to school because it is boring at home. "

Tatiana writes:

"At the start of the quarantine I was happy because we didn't go to school and I was able to sleep more. After first month I started to feel weird. I was able to see my friends and teachers only in zoom classes. Two months later I was at the highest point of my nerves. I was thinking staying at home is ok but I lied to myself-teachers gave us much more homework,we didn't understand many things. Sometimes I forgot to change my pajamas or wake up. That was pretty stressful. There was also a point when we could not go almost anywhere. After summer holiday we were ready to go to school. Shortly after that second wave of corona virus was here. Second quarantine started in the end of October (I think). And we are still waiting if we can go to school. The government has promised that we will go to school on December 7th - unfortunately we aren't going. I hope to see my classmates soon."

I think that was super and this could be in our normal in school teaching. Of course not to sleep forever but if we need to go to school just at 9o’clock i could be so happy and i think not just I.

- There were some disadvantages which were so annoying like some teachers didn’t write back and etc… But the math and the english responses were so fast.

- As i said there was more advantage so there is another: I Could eat when I want and I just stop the video and make a sandwich for myself. I loved this.

- But in the last few weeks I started to get bored at home and wanted to hang out with my friends. But they weren’t doing their homeworks at the same time as me. Usually we just got the homework, did it, and sent it back to the teacher. Some teachers just didn't want us to we send it back. I didn’t mean the online lessons. I meant that there were a lot of teachers who just didn't care about that or just thought we understood the lesson but there was a lot of time when we didn't! I know that was super difficult for the teachers but we had a terrible time too! And maybe most of the teachers just didn't know or didn’t think that. And I just want to say thank you to all the teachers who tried to teach me in that unbelievable time. So, thank you so much!

Oton writes:

Good day, in Oton and I live in Slovenia. Recently Corona virus come no surface. Therefore, we students most go working remotely from our homes. So I want to tell you how is in Slovenia, how we work... I will read with pleasure yours files too.

When Corona come, was no one thinking that it will be that it will be so serious especially in Slovenia. There were people, many people who make jokes about corona virus. Many people thought that covid-19 would never come to Slovenia. However, there were people who made stocks. But in 3 days we had it in Slovenia. First, the leaders of Slovenia didn’t know what to do with us students. Then suddenly they realized that we must work from home.

First we were thinking, that we would have school during the holidays, but thank god that they didn’t do that. Some teachers know how to use the programs online that we use but some don’t, so it was really messy. There were tasks everywhere... Arnes (online classroom) wasn’t working properly and there were problems. Sometimes it didn’t work for weeks. Of course, it was the first time for all of us. Video conferencing every week but not every hour, 1 or 2 times for each subject, other days they send us materials in the online classroom www.Arnes.si/. When we have video-conferencing, the quality was really bad. My friends and me were typing and voice calling on an application Discord, because it has the best qualty. My mom and me went cycling and walking a lot .

Then holidays come and we went to the sea. The situation calmed down, we were partying end of corona, and it comes 2000 infections on day. So we most to go doing from home. This time it was a lot worse because hackers hacked into Arnes on the first day. After that week it was holidays for one week, but then they extended for another week.

Since Corona virus, I’m bored, because after school, i can’t play with friends. Im trying to keep me awake so I am programming, playing videogames, watching television, anime like: RE: Zero, Darling in the FranXX, Charlotte, I read books too. I was trying replace playing with friends with playing games with them.

I will love to read your stories.

Anja Maja writes:
In March this year the COVID-19 pandemic was proclaimed. Schools closed in
146 countries around the world with more than one billion children being
suddenly out of school. And among them we started homeschooling as well.
At first the system wasn't that good, it was really hard to get used to it. And
I may be a little bit dramatic. i didn't like it. But after some time now it’s different -
better. I think that the biggest and the best change is the zoom classes. I feel like
it's better to have more conference calls, it's easier to understand because we
actually get explanations.
Usually teachers give just as much work as we would do in school. Which is
good. But almost every day I still finish way earlier than I would in school. There
are two reasons for that: the first one is because they usually don't give
homework. And the second is because in school you usually work about 70% of
the time the other thirty you just wait for other people to finish. That gives you
plenty of time to spare when you work alone.I usually work about three to four
hours a day.
I always work in one place, in my room at my desk. The only thing I don't
like about sitting there, is that you can see my whole room from there when I'm
on zoom calls .
My normal day in quarantine goes something like that. I wake up at twenty
to eight, I get ready for the day. I start working at eight or eight twenty. I have my
first zoom class, when I’m done of course I do more work and I have more zoom
classes. It's around eleven now, and I’m bored for two hours. I eat lunch that’s
made by my sister, my brother or me. Then I have cello class and it's three
oclock now, I'm bored some more and look it's the evening now! No, it's not fun
being alone for weeks, without friends and other family. I admit,my time could be
used better, because for most of the day I do nothing and I just feel sorry for
myself. I miss everyone that I can’t see now and it's really hard but I think that we
need to keep standing together and be supportive and happy, with that kind of
energy we’re going to be okay.
It's odd, to say that some things are better now then they were before, but
some really are! For example, I made a lot of contact with my old friends. And I
finally got the time to do art, which I haven't in yearsI started to get creative
again! And after all, if nothing has changed to good, at least we’ll appreciate
every visit we get or contact we make, it's really important to stay positive and go
through this together. We need to remember that no matter what we won't give
up because it's not a situation that we are going through alone, not even as a
person, not even as a family, not even as a country because, the whole world is
going through this together.

Lucija writes:
It seems to me that by closing schools they do the right thing because there are more and more new sick people in the day .It is true the most students easier follow the school work in school. It’s much easier to get up in the morning to get to school and follow class than to sit at a desk at home looking at a computer and do homework. Sometimes it’s hard to remember when you have class. It is also difficult because sometimes the internet or online classroom work really badly and then some teachers are angry. But I still wish much more that we could go back to school and it is also easier for teachers to explain things live rather than online. It is also easier for parents. The process of learning is also more difficult because if we do not understand something, it’s much harder to get an answer quickly. Because parents sometimes don’t know how to explain as well as teachers, you need to send an e-mail to get answers from teachers. Or write on a forum. Which, can take some time. And also because of all of this, we spend a lot more time on mobile phones and computers. In this time we can be outside.

Ula writes:

So... where do I start. December 2019. The first ever case of covid-19 known as Corona virus, was confirmed in Wuhan City, China. The virus started spreading first in China, then Asia, Europe and lastly America. There were thousands of sick people. On March 11th 2020 the government announced the covid-19 outbreak and with it, the pandemic. Many people died due to the outbreak, so we were all put in quarantine. Practically the whole world was in lockdown. People started working from home and so did the students. After three months we came to school for about two weeks. After summer we were in school only two months. So here I am now. Writing an essay about online school. It sure isn’t really fun, but I know that teachers, parents, and the government are doing everything they can for us to come back to school soon.

I must say I stressed quite a lot because of online school. Every day I get up early, get dressed, put my hair in a messy bun and sit right in front of the computer. I’m tired and the white light of the computer is hurting my eyes. I put on a smile and join the zoom class I have first. ”Good morning teacher!”. And so on and on every day. After all my zoom classes, I also have to do all the schoolwork for which I didn’t have a zoom class today. Then I eat my lunch, go on my phone for an hour and get ready for my dance class. I have zoom training for either 1hour, 2hours, an hour and a half or for two hours and a half. By the time I finish I’m pretty exhausted. At last I have some free time. I like to draw or paint, listen to music, call my friends or even bake something if I’m in the mood. That’s basically how my normal day of online school looks like. I know, and so do you that it’s not easy to for a student to have online school. It’s much more work and with that more stressed. I know I’m being dramatic, but It’s hard not seeing your friends, having so much schoolwork and I’m even missing my teachers (wow. I didn’t know I was that desperate). I’m kidding, I’m kidding. But when I think about it I need to get used to it. It’s not going to get any better by sitting in my room crying, wishing that I would go to Hogwarts. So by thinking about it, I realized that I need to put myself together and do the schoolwork I needed to do. And as soon as I finished I felt much better. Why? Because I did all my schoolwork and now I can do whatever I want. I just had to quickly do what I needed. Instead of feeling sorry for myself I put some effort in myself and then I was calm. Couse I knew a already did everything.

From then I do everything with effort and quickly. I knew for a fact that putting effort in myself would help me in the future. So now, if you ask me I really like online school. It learned me that I have to do what I didn’t want fast, so I could enjoy myself later. So the moral of the story is that you have to put effort in the hard work so you can be free earlier. I learned that myself. You should try itJ
