         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Learning Accelerator Model discussed in the TED Talk from Week 1 fueled a lot of self-reflection about personalization in my classroom. There are ample technology resources available that allow for personalization in some form but now I'm asking myself... (1) what other resources exist? (2) how can I use my current resources more effectively?</p><p><br></p><p>I'm excited to continue working towards this goal of personalization as a means of more effective and meaningful education for my students.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>As I've gained more teaching experience, I've become more critical of available resources and how they choose to approach content. There are times when I find that the curriculum makes great connections among topics and provides authentic application experiences and other times where I find that it falls flat. As research continues to be done on the effectiveness of available resources I hope that the need for skepticism when choosing resources fades.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The "dos" and "don'ts" lists for teachers discussed in Chapter 3 of Neuroteach are something that stuck out to me during Week 3. Neuroteach was the text for another course I took at Drexel and I remember constantly revisiting the lists. I was excited to see the text again as our course text.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This time around, as I read the list of "dos," I focused on how technology could play a role in implementing some of the items on the list and where it might be counterproductive. The main item that I felt technology could transform was the use of frequent, formative, low-stakes assessments. Technology provides an opportunity to give frequent and immediate feedback which could transform the effectiveness of formative assessment for students. One area that I felt technology in my particular content area (math) is falling short is the reinforcement that "effort matters most." Many technology resources in the math content areas rely on accuracy and can pose a challenge for struggling students.</p>]]></description>
