The ground will become bare so the rainwater will fall on it and flow over the surface more rapidly as surface runoff, causing flooding in the surrounding areas. If there were trees, the forest would intercept the rainwater and allow it to seep into the ground, instead of flooding the land.

flooding has occurred due to deforestation. Since the trees in the area where the photo was taken have been chopped down, the rainwater cannot seep into the ground.
