Threshold Guardians

Once I was at the School, or the Threshold, I could tell that the Threshold Guardians were the Upper Classmen. The Threshold Guardians test the hero's strength and worthiness before they go into the Threshold. The Upper Classmen are the Threshold Guardians because they like to test you and they don't like new, young people in "their" school.

Abyss

The abyss is the darkest hour for the hero, and I absolutely came across this during the first semester. Finals week was my darkest hour because I had to stay up late studying and it was overall a very stressful time. After the abyss, I was transformed because I had completed all the work and became a smarter person.

Challenges and Temptations in the Hero's Journey Chart is the challenges that happen to prepare you for the Abyss or Finals. The challenges that I had before going into Finals were doing all my homework. I was tempted to cheat when assignments got harder, but I knew that that wouldn't help me, so I had to go through the challenges on my own.

Call to Adventure-

For Katniss, her Call to Adventure was at the reaping for The Hunger Games, when her sisters name was selected for the games. I would want Katniss to be my Mentor for the rest of the semester because she showed a lot of bravery at this event. She could teach me how to be brave and how to help the people that I care about.

Threshold Guardians

In The Hunger Games, the threshold guardian is the train ride to the capital. Katniss was very strong on the train and kept to herself. I want Katniss to mentor me on this because when I get mad at the Upper Classmen for ant reason, I need to be able to control myself and let it go.

Challenges and Temptations

Katniss was challenged when she knew that her only way to win the games was to get a bow and arrow. There was a bow and arrow at the cornucopia, so she was tempted to go and get it even though Peeta didn't want her to go because she could get killed. Katniss could help me know what to do when I need help because she has lots of experience with that.

Abyss

Katniss experienced many times in abyss when she was in the games because she had to spend the entire time hiding from people that were going to try to kill her. Knowing that Katniss has lots of experience with abyss, I would want her to help me during my darkest times so that I know that I am making the right choice.

Call for Adventure

The call to adventure is when the hero is first called to start their quest. This part of the hero's journey occurred last semester when my alarm clock went off on the first day of school. This illustrates the call to adventure because the hero will usually reject the offer at first, which I did when I clicked the snooze bar before I finally got up.
