Why Pink Panther?

I chose this artwork for many reasons. First of all, I used to watch Pink Panther as a child. I always thought it was silly and loved the theme song. I also think that the woman is beautiful, so of course I wanted to dress up as her. I was also particularly inspired due to the reactions of a few of my classmates. When first shown the work, they dismiss it as "not real art". I believe this reaction has an underlying meaning, maybe something to do with the fact that there is a hyperfeminine and partially undressed woman, people do not see the work as legitimate. I think this is something that they should confront within themselves. I, however, believe that the work is beautiful.

First I did my makeup, put on the jewelry and clothes, and got my dog ready. Then we hugged! It was pretty simple. For this recreation I used makeup, shirts and dresses, gold jewelry, and my dog.

For this recreation I decided to use fruit. I used various types of berries, bananas, and milk to create the smoothie bowl and toppings. First I made the smoothie bowl (strawberry flavored) and strategically placed the fruits on top of it to mimic the colorful, precise original work.

I chose the Ambum Stone because it is one of my favorite works in all of the 250. I think that the Ambum Stone is so cute. I love it's big eyes and long snoot. I always think that it looks like my dog. Ever since the beginning of class at the beginning of the year I have wished that I had my own Ambum Stone.

This process was very simple. I have always thought that my dog looked like the Ambum Stone, so decided to make her into it! I put a bowl in her lap and viola! My own Ambum Stone. I used just my dog and a bowl.

I chose The Scream because it is one of the earliest works I have ever learned about. I learned about this work in elementary school art class. Of course, it's iconic. As a child The Scream scared me, but everyone thought it was silly. So I decided to remake it myself to depict it the way other people always thought it was.

I chose the Elephant Mask because it is the reason I became interested in various masks used in different African cultures. I always found the mask to be beautiful, especially because of the depiction of an animal. I also loved how it was made of beads. I think that it makes the mask unique. I wanted to make my own mask so I could have my own cool one. I decided to make it a shark because sharks are my favorite animals.

For this mask I used a cardboard project poster and beads. I glued the beads onto the shark poster. It was a very tedious process, but in the end I loved it.
