With the passing days many educational institutions such as universities and high schools are giving their students the opportunity to study abroad but is it as good as it might sound? I personally believe that studying abroad has many benefits.

Firstly, allowing students to study abroad it's an opportunity to put in practice what you hace learnt about that language and also get to know more about a different culture by just getting to know new and different people. Furthermore, you can have the opportunity to see different places, their monuments and also create new experiences and joyful memories. Secondly, teenagers get to develop their independence in a way or another and prepare themselves for the future. For instance, once you get to a different country, away from your parents, you have to be very responsible with your actions and you also get to do things by youself. Moreover, you get to see the moral and cultural differences between your country and the country you are visiting. This can be really helpful to develop your critical point of view just by observing small details such as the way people show respect to others, the way they act in certain situations or simply watching their response when you ask for directions.

In short, studying abroad is helpful to learn more about a foreign language, their culture, history... However, this increasement in the mobile phone usage has created yet another debate. Should schools allow their students use their mobile phones in class?

On the one hand, using mobile phones can be very beneficial, aside from providing fast information, to make classes, somehow, more interesting. What I mean by that is that using technology might help teachers to make their lessons more interactive and appealing to their students. For instance, apps like Kahoot!  are helping many teachers by creating easy and appealing tests that provide classes with more interacivity and partenership between students.

On the other hand, allowing mobile phones can also distract students from their classes very easily with the constant sounds that social medias' updates make or even occasional phone calls. Furthermore, phones are known for their dependence. According to different studies, teens use their mobile phones for almost 4 hours per day, therefore allowing students to use their phones would increase this quantity of hours and might also increase its dependence.

In conclusion, mobile phones can help students to learn easier by making classes more interactive but they can also distract them and increase the dependence on it.

Of course we can say that now we have the technology and that we can use it but in some educational institutions there aren't this facilities or there are but very old ones.

Students in Spain, once they pass the primary school, at the age of 13 they get to highschool and they have todo pass through 4 years of compulsory studies. When they pass through the fourth year, they have to decide whether they are going to work or if they are going to keep studying. If you decide to keep studying, you have the opportunity to choose between three branches: science, humanities or art and then go through two insufferable years calles baccalaureate.
I'm in the second year of baccalaureate on the humanities branch and I have to study eight different subjects. Once I pass throught all my final exams on May I will hace todo study all I have learnt in this year for my EvAU exam. In order to get to a university of your preference you will hace to pass the EvAU exam. This exam is based on four compulsory subjects: spanish and literature, english, history and, in my case, latin but If you want some extra points you can always add some money to add two more subjects to your exam.

As I see it, education has lost its point, that point being helping students to develop their critical point of view and learn more about different subjects in order to apply them in the future. After three days of annoying my mother, we went together to the zoo and the first animal I could see was a small duck walking through the people. He had small and white feathers and by its size we thought that he was born some weeks before our meeting. The Next zones we visited where the reptiles'zone and the flamingos' zone. I saw many scary and toxic snakes and some colourful frogs, little did I know that those where the most mortal ones. Right after the reptiles' zone you could see long legged flamingos eating the food that the guards where feeding them and I was fascinated by their unusual pink feathers. 
Once we got bored of watching flamingos my parents decided to go to watch the penguins' zone but someone was missing, my little brother wasn't with us. I looked for him with my father for almost one hour and in the meantime my mother was impatiently speaking with the guards. 
In the end we found him feeding joyfully some ducks near the entrance of the zoo. Of course my mother got really angry at him but I was the most annoyed because, right after lecturing my brother, my mother decided to return back home.

At the time I wouldn't find this story a very funny nor happy one but after all this years I see it as a good memory to tell at a family conversation or to simply remind to my brother.]]> 2019-04-22 17:32:15 UTC https://padlet.com/mihaelaenache9/mxfp0scql6wh/wish/353127004
