Behaviorism: This cognitive learning strategy looks to promote the scientific study of behavior. It involves studying how humans and animals behave as individual organisms. Behaviorism deals with how an individual’s mind works in developing certain behaviors. It is, in a way, an attitude, a way of conceiving empirical constraints on psychological state attribution. There are three types of behaviorism. There is Methodical behaviorism, which deals with conduct of psychology. It deals with the behavior of organisms in reference to mental states. The second one is the Psychological behaviorism. It deals with the behavior of organisms in terms of their responses to external physical stimuli. Then the third one is analytical/logical behaviorism which deals with intentional or representational states of minds such as beliefs.

Social constructivism: This learning strategy simply involves the development of individuals through their social interactions. According to social constructivism, knowledge evolves through the process of social negotiation and evaluation of the viability of individual understanding. Teachers can incorporate this by letting learners socialise as they learn the work provided.

Cognitivism: This learning theory focuses more on the processes of learning rather than the observed behavior. It focuses more on internal stimuli, contending that the “black box” of the mind should be opened up and understood. The learner is seen as a processor of information. Cognitivism is in contrast with behaviorism as it does not rely on how the learners will react from outside stimuli, instead it requires learners to participate in learning and strive to process the information they receive.
