The Crow and The Pitcher.

Why do you like the story?

Based on the story i listened to “The Crow and The Pitcher”, I really like the story because it show that when there is a will, there is a way. As example, The crow was so thirsty , unfortunately he could not reach the water inside the pitcher. At first, I thought The Crow will give up and find another source of water, but it turns out that The Crow find a way to drink the water by dropping pebbles into the Pitcher. The Crow did not give up even though it took time for the water to rose a little higher. I was amazed at how he find solutions. He was also clever to think and find a way to solve it. In my opinion, persistence is the key in solving any problem because eventually, even if the situation seems dire, you will find a solution and your idea might not be as bad as you think. The important is, work hard and you may find solution to any problem.

Lastly, your positive action combined with positive thinking results in sucess.

NurAzah Anis Bt Rosli

Kba1191c

2018255974

The story that I listened to is “The Lion and The Mouse” written by Beth Richmond and I really like this story.

One of the reason why I like this story because this story show me a good value. It show that no matter what happen or who you are, when we help each other, these kind of deeds will always get rewarded. For example, The mouse really kept his words by helping The Lion when he got entangled in a net which had been spread for game by some hunters. In my opinion, the Mouse really did a good job to do it because The lion had helps him back then so it was a good timing to return the kindness that The lion has made

Besides that, I also like this story because it show that nothing imposibble if we try. As example, when The Mouse begging and cried at The Lion to let him go when The Lion was about to kill him. In my opinion, I was amazed at both The Lion and The mouse. I like The Mouse behavior for not giving up asking The Lion to let him go and The Lion’s kindness to letting The Mouse go. We should apply this in our lives so that we could achieve more good things especially to all students out there.

In conclusion, it was a great story after all and it show so many good thing in order for us to develop it in our life.

QUESTION 1
What are the activities in facebook that have been assigned to you this semester and are these activities have helped you in improving your English skills.

Activities in Facebook that have been assigned to me this semester was I was asked to wrote a LIRA based on the various stories that I have listened. Besides that, I also did a video telling about my mid semester break which is I spent my holiday with my friend. Apart from that, the latest video that I did was my friend and I, we were assigned to make a video showing a food hunting near Sungai Petani and my group and I went to few famous food places near our UITM Merbok. These activities have helped me improving my English Skills as I was required to talk fully in English when doing the video task. I did not awkward to talk in English anymore since I had done the video task for so many times.

QUESTION 2
Do you think the video uploads in Facebook have helped you in improving your speaking skills? How?

I think the video uploads in Facebook have helped me in improving my speaking skills. When i watched all the video uploaded by my friends, I monitor the way they speak and learn from it in order to improve my speaking skills. Also, when I did the video task, as I was writing script for the video I found out I did a lot of grammar and vocabulary mistakes so I managed to make a correction and learn from the mistake that I did. It was the same when I was practices rehearse speaking by myself before I shoot the video , I found out I did a lot of mistake. So I rehearse more and fix the mistake that I did before I shoot the video in order the improve my speaking skills.

QUESTION 3
Describe your “Week Without Walls” (www) video project. How did the process of working on this video help you to become an independent learner.

My “Week without Walls” (www) video project goes well as I managed to handle it well. The process on this video really help me to become an independent learner. This is because my group and I, we must think where to shot the video, how to go there and what to talk infront of the camera. We did all the thing by ourself without any guide. We went to “Nasi Ayam Pak Mud” and “Satay Semeling”. While we shoot for the videos, we talk about the prices, how to get there and wether the food was delicious or not.

QUESTION 4
Are you satisfied with your performance in ELC121 especially your speaking skills?

I was satisfied with my performance in ELC121 especially my speaking skills because I never did all the activities that I had done during this semester in my entire life. My speaking skills improved a lot as I was required to talk in English infront of the camera when I was making the video task. I gained a lot of confidence to talk in English with my friend. I also gained so many knowledge about speaking. I was excited everytime we were asked to make a video because it was so much fun to talk in English. Now, I can speak English comfortably with everyone based on the experienced that I had when making the video task. For the next semester, I hope my lecturer can develop the same teaching method like asking us to make a video so that I can improve my speaking skills more.
