Disadvantages
- They do not make a profit and so for example workers do not get a great wage.
- Dependant on things such as donations and so do not have a steady income as it could always fluctuate.
- Depend on unpaid volunteers who may be tricky to reach and obtain

Advantages
- Help the public (cancer research) also by selling things for a cheaper price
-close to the people the public sector wants to reach
-Tax relief on donations and grants

Social Enterprises
-Social enterprises are usually a blend of private and volunteer sectors. A credit union, a coffee shop that sells fair-trade beans and hires candidates from at-risk communities, or a neighbourhood food co-op are all examples of social enterprises.

Cics
A kind of non-charitable limited company that's set up primarily for the benefit of the community e,g a community cricket club.
