Amir's guilt drives mostly through the book because of what had happened to Hassan at the time where Amir could have done something to prevent Hassan from getting raped. So the symbol in the book of guilt is seeing Hassan on a daily basis.

I chose this symbol because the tree represents relationships because Amir and Hassan have a lot of history with the tree and shows their friendship. Also shows power in between the two because after Hassan was raped Amir was guilty and used the tree as power against Hassan repeatedly harassing Hassan with pomegranates calling him a coward.
