         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em><mark>Cerebrum</mark></em></strong><br><br></div><div>This is the biggest part of the brain. There are two halves of the cerebrum – one on each side of your head. It’s your cerebrum that tells you how to move when you play sports or dance.</div><div>It is also the home of your memory and logic. The cerebrum also helps you with reasoning and making decisions.<br><br></div><div><strong><em><mark>Cerebellum</mark></em></strong></div><div>The <strong>cerebellum</strong> is much smaller than the cerebrum. It controls your muscles, movement, and coordination. Without it, you wouldn’t be able to stand upright, balance, or move.</div><div>It also helps us to learn how to do things with our bodies so that we no longer have to think about them. If you’ve learnt how to ride a bike, your cerebellum is storing all of the information so that each time you get on a bike isn’t like the first, wobbly time. So it is a very important part of the brain!<br><br></div><div><strong><em><mark>Brain stem</mark></em></strong></div><div>The <strong>brain stem</strong> is also known as the <strong>medulla</strong>. It connects your brain to the spinal cord. It controls lots of involuntary muscles and processes. For example, the brain stem keeps your <a href="https://www.twinkl.com/teaching-wiki/circulatory-system">heart beating to move blood</a> around your body. It also tells your <a href="https://www.twinkl.com/teaching-wiki/digestive-system">stomach to digest your food to give you energy</a>.<br>The <strong>brain stem</strong> also receives all of the information sent from nerves in the rest of the body.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
