Civic involvement is also the involvement of every day citizens. Interest groups advertise themselves a number of different ways to gain civilian involvement. They use media to promote themselves, go door to door to get civilians involved through petitions or following them on social media, and if people do sign up, they encourage them to tell their neighbors and friends about their interest group. Political parties engage citizens through constant advertising through media, such as creating ads, making twitter and instagram pages, and trying to keep up with younger voters by relating to them more. Once a citizen joins their group, they invite them to rallies to support their candidate, invite them to become part of the candidate’s running team by adverting the candidate, and ask for donations to fund their candidate’s campaign.
