And when the mental health of one person is affected, it can produce a domino effect extending beyond that individual. “We know that when people have a psychiatric disorder, it’s not good for any of us,” Mays says. “For example, it can affect parenting — a depressed mom might not be able to interact with her child in a way that best promotes that child’s development, leaving the child more vulnerable to certain behavioral disorders. Tolerance consists of respect, acceptance, and appreciation for the rich diversity that surrounds us: the different cultures of our world, our forms of expression, and our ways of being human; tolerance is the harmonious relationship between our differences.

Practicing tolerance doesn't mean tolerating social injustice or renouncing personal beliefs. It means that everyone is free to hold their own beliefs and accepts that others have theirs. It means accepting that all human beings have the right to live in peace and to be who they are, regardless of the diversity of their beliefs, identity, or way of life.

Above all, tolerance is an active attitude of recognition of the universal human rights and fundamental freedoms of all people. Tolerance is a virtue that contributes to replacing the culture of violence with a culture of peace. It is not only a moral duty, but also a political and legal requirement: tolerance must be practiced by individuals, groups, and States, and we must foster it through knowledge, openness, communication, and freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.

Consolidating the value of tolerance in our society requires significant education, learning, and ongoing communication. Education for tolerance involves understanding and analyzing the cultural, social, economic, political, and religious reasons for intolerance—that is, the root causes of violence and exclusion. It also involves recognizing that intolerance stems from ignorance and fear: fear of the unknown, of others, of different cultures, nations, or religions. Therefore, it is necessary to implement educational policies and programs that contribute to the development of understanding and solidarity among individuals and nations.

Being tolerant means respecting others, understanding that we do not possess the absolute truth, and not imposing our opinions on others.

Perpetrators may also experience a range of negative consequences, including legal action. Organizations that tolerate discrimination or harassment may suffer from decreased productivity, damaged reputations, and lost customers.

To prevent these negative outcomes, it is important for everyone to be aware of the risks and consequences of discrimination and harassment.

People who suffer discrimination can change their lives, so this people would have a low-steem, and this would be terrible because their consequences are severe while it is caused more and more, the low-steem can give you a bad feeling of all people that insulted that region or culture (depending the type of discrimination that the person said about it), the rancor also is a factor or reaction that you would have accidentaly with the person that discriminated you.

Discrimination made people suffer by many ways, these actions change people's lifes, it can change the actitude and feelings from an ordinary person. Also, if it is frequently, it can also change the way to communicate of a person, the most common changes of people that are suffering this problem/issue are depression, rancor from the person who discriminate and with extreme cases suicide. Moreover, of this "extreme" cases happen the friends and family of the person who suffered the discrimination will be sad and also depressive. This can cause a effect domino that the family of the person will discriminate the person who discriminate the person that suicide, and it will repeat again and again and more people would do the same action that the person who discriminate.
