After the end of WW2 (1945), the world went into a rebuilding phase that affected most of the world, which inevitably led to the contest between the two allies, US and Soviets, to see which sphere of influence pitting communism and capitalism, on which president Truman's quote from a speech before Congress (1947) summarized in that he supports the ideal will of life is based on the majority (government controlled by the people) rather than the minority imposing on the majority (government controlling over the people).

After WW2 France reoccupied its old territories until a Vietnamese movement sprawled up and declared Vietnam independence from colonial control. France attempted to regain control but failed miserably as it was now know as the "Democratic Republic of Vietnam".

At first, the involvement was met with criticism over the french colonial practices and disapproved of the consequences that France had committed over their territories said by president at the time, FDR, because of the sympathy for a colonial territory revolting against being colonized.

The turning point was when the US decided to send their forces into South Korea to help aid and fend off against the North during the Korean war. This prompted the US to see any other country that bordered other communist countries to be seen as more of a "containment wall" defense to contain the spread of communism, and podded France to not continue the war in Vietnam, as that would give an opportunity for Vietnam to switch to more on a communist stance with the support of other communist countries, but France refused.

In the end of the Korean war, France couldnt have gotten away with the conflict over the imperialism of Vietnam, and a quote from Ho Chi Minh (leader of the anti-imperalist group leading Vietnam), that the negotiation of armstice and peace through proposal brought about the political contraversy of resentment within France of the US policies and independence of France

Part 6:

A plan made by a French commander in Indochina to neutralize the insurgency, by using more Vietnamese forces to fight for the French and construction of strong strategic defense forces to defend and uphold the French, allow them to also attack the Vietminh forces and cut off their supply line bases to gain the advantage.

Part 7:

With help from military supplies from China, the Vietminh leader General Vo Nguyen Giap led a counterattack on the key French holding positions to gain the advantage over the French. This later ended up known as the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, which was the most critical factor into winning the revolution over the French colonization.

The main reason why the US did not decide to join the conflict and help the French was because of two detrimental factors: The involvement of the US troops being led to fight against the Vietminh would also mean that the Chinese would also have to get involved in which the US wanted no dealings with them. The second reason why was the potential loss of land to communism would not negotiate well with the loss, knowing that there could have been something done at least retain the land that could have contained communism
