Meanwhile Tom was flirting with Nick, was throwing his eyes at Miss Baker. Daisy told him a family secret about the butler’s bode and him being the silver polisher in New York. Daisy loves to see Nick at her table and calls him a rose. Daisy tells Nick about Tom’s multiple affairs in New York. Nick had driven home and his head turned to a cat’s silhouette, but as he turned, he understood that he wasn’t alone, there was a man standing with his hands in his pockets in front of his neighbours mansion. He then sured him that it’s Mr. Gatsby trembling. Nick looked away for a second and as he looked back, Gatsby had vanished.

nick receives an invitation from Jay Gatsby to one of extravagant gatherings, which are really famous for their mysterious aura. Nick gets there with Jordan Baker. The guests there are a mix of celebrities and people who showed up without invitations. Mysterious aura, because no one seemed to know much about Gatsby, but they still went and had fun. During the party, Nick and Jordan in curiosity search for Gatsby and meets him. Gatsby seems to be surprisingly young and handsome. He tells Nick that they served together in World War I which established a connection between them.

The chapter reveals more about Gatsby origins and how he became rich, including his real name James Gatz.

Chapter starts with a newspaper that’s article is “mysterious millionaire”, which made Tom suspect Gatsby’s and Daisies relationship. Gatsby earlier in life was actually a poor young man from North Dakota. Gatsby throws a party in which Daisy feels uncomfortable in because of the crowd of guests, which disappoints Gatsby. Later he realises that he cannot recreate past.

The book in general was very hard to read. At first I couldn’t understand the text, but as I read the same chapter twice, I immediately got the concept. I’m really curious on what’s going to happen next.
