         <description><![CDATA[<div>To put it in percentages, I do spend more time in the remember/understand phase. I would say about 50% remember/understand, 25% apply/analyze, and 25% evaluate/create. Science can be so vocabulary heavy at times, I feel like I spend more time just trying to get students to understand the meaning of the words.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In a perfect environment, I would love to flip my remember/understand percentages with the evaluate/create percentages. Students would also spend more time applying and analyzing their learning instead of simply remembering facts. After all, they would need to remember facts in order to be success at the apply/analyze and evaluate/create phases.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>* I incorporate two strategies that involve movement. First, I use a QR code system called "Plickers" for my warm-up questions. Students hold up a code and, depending on how they turn the code, can log in a multiple choice answer. Second, I use four learning stations when introducing a big new concept. Student rotate through four stations to learn the new concept, with each station using a different learning style.<br>* For critical thinking and collaboration I tend to use "discrepant events" and "claims, evidence, reasoning" for summarizing and writing out thoughts on scientific phenomena.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>* I liked the "Ten Most Important Words" strategy. I've used something similar to this when having students read a science article. This strategy involves students picking out the ten most important words to remember from a reading.<br>* I could use the "Contents Links" strategy to help students understand the patterns on the Periodic Table and the "Vocabulary-Building Movement" strategy for understanding new vocabulary.<br>* I will use the "Four Corner" movement strategy as a formal assessment in the next week.</div>]]></description>
