In February 2022, WHO published another conceptual framework with a menu of indicators to track and monitor progress in strengthening PHC.To integrate with this,  We will Identify pharmacy-related indicators among existing WHO indicators. We are organizing a workshop with CPS Exco and GPO team to prioritize these levers. We will collect regional case studies to monitor PHC that is integrated with UHC and SDGs. So we strongly encourage you to submit a case study to showcase your country’s contribution. We will make interviews and they will be showcased on our website.

To implement these regional roadmaps, we need to set up regional centres for excellence, expertise and best practice sharing network in each region for the advancement of pharmaceutical education. These centres will facilitate educational and scientific transformations through partnerships between academic institutions.

We created a priority scoring method that guided us in identifying the sequence to launch each regional centre for excellence by 2023. This scoring method used a rating scale to assess criteria related to engagements, needs, priorities and resources across all regions, ALL evidence-based, signed off by FIP leadership.

The African regional centre for excellence is transitioning to the African-wide pharmacy school association through APF’s leadership. South-East Asia Region will be the first priority region, we will collaborate with all regional associations and members across to region, stay tuned for more info, as we are finalizing our agreement with UNESCO. For the European region, Western Pacific Region, and The Americas – we will directly engage with leading regional associations to build on their resources and networks. Eastern Mediterranean Region will be the 2nd priority. All this will happen within 2022 and 2023, with inter-regional mentorship and buddying to build on learnings across all regions.
