Conflict of Interest

In the field, I have come accross issues of conflict of interest very commonly. Working in a small town, within the local Aboriginal community means that almost everybody knows everyone else, and this has created situations of conflict of interest as a worker.
To avoid these issues, we always offer our clients the opportunity to work with somebody else should they feel more comfortable, or if this is not a possibility we offer the option to refer out to another suitable service - obviously we explain confidentiality and client rights as well - but sometimes, if clients know you outside of work or through family ties, they will not want to share with you regardless.
