I took a 30 minute career exploration assessment in order to properly gauge what career would align best with my personality and needs. Surprisingly, the most accurate match was the career that I planned on pursuing.

Career Aptitude Assessment

This career aptitude test is slightly shorter but still served to assess my career option along with my needs. Unexpectedly, I was best categorized with persuading jobs and managing roles. I've never pictured myself following these career paths prior to taking this test.

ASVAB Assessment

The ASVAB test was completely different from the other two tests. Instead of matching a job with my personality and wants, it tackled my knowledge. The test had 12 questions relating to my understanding on different subjects pertaining to fields in the army where I would be strong.

Counseling Psychologist

This video depicts why Counseling Psychologists chose their pathway. The qualities they mentioned, such as it being so real and helpful to other people, is the reason why I want this profession. The schedule for Counesling Psychologist is also allowed to be extremely flexible and can help people with all kinds of backgrounds and needs.

I am a senior at Lincoln High School. I plan to further my education by first getting my Associates Degree at Delta College before transferring to San Francisco state to get my Bachelors Degree. Afterwards, I plan to get both my Masters and Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology in order to become a Counseling Psychologist and help improve peoples' quality of life.

Job Search

I went on to Indeed to search for jobs with the qualities that I wanted. The 5 jobs were all very similar but varied in many ways. Some met all of my needs but didn't pay enough. Others didn't meet my needs but paid extremely well. The search showed me that there were a lot of opportunities for my degree but I would also have to compromise.
