https://padlet.com/DrNancyCoogan/About Dr. Nancy Coogan works with parents, teachers, students, and staff as superintendent of the Tukwila School District in Tukwila, Washington. In addition to her work with the schools that comprise Tukwila School District, she is sometimes asked to speak at professional gatherings, including the annual meetings of the American Education Research Association, or AERA. In 2015, she spoke to members of the AERA about being an activist superintendent. At the organization’s 2013 gathering, she presented on the positive effects of mindfulness in relation to administrating urban high schools. Dr. Nancy Coogan has also delivered talks at functions hosted by institutions including Seattle University and groups such as the Washington Education Research Association and Puget Sound Educational Service Delivery. Along with giving talks about her experiences in the field of educational administration, Dr. Coogan has published work in association with the Partnership for Action, Collaboration, and Transformation, part of the Department of Education’s Institute for Education Services in Washington, D.C. Her work has also appeared in Teachers of Color Magazine.
