Monday (Shape Day)

On Monday we review the basic shapes and usually provide activities such as crafts, or math involving shapes. As my students are 2-3-year-olds I believe using technology (Ipad) with apps such as the ones listed below will help improve learning value and engagement. I find that students have a longer attention span when using technology as apps have various activities, so there is always an expansion of learning. These apps also allow students to learn at their own pace and have the opportunity to try again numerous times. I believe that is also one strength of these kinds of apps cause you can try again without "erasing" or starting from scratch.

Shape Gurus
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shape-gurus/id1015403712
This app lets children put shapes into their outlines to build scenes. This will make a connection to the real world, as it will teach children that there are also shapes around us. They have matching shape activities, and classifying shapes.

Shape Up
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shape-up-lite-busy-things/id482562699
This app allows children to practice writing by tracing the shapes. It is also engaging and entertaining as the shapes traced are characters and they come to life.

Tuesday (Color Day)

On Tuesday we review the basic colors and every week we add a new color. The children love colors and most of them know their colors. Usually, we use flashcards and crafts to help the children grasp their colors. I believe using the two apps below will help make learning colors more enjoyable, which will help retention, especially for the students who have yet to master their colors.

SpeakColorsHD
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/speakcolorshd/id485394459
This app is speech therapy based and helps children imitate simple sentences that consist of colors and objects. This will help children with speech and language delays.

Colors Touch
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/colors-touch-app-for-kindergarten-and-preschool-kids/id1104149578
This app helps children learn colors through sound, touch, and sight. Involving different senses to learn colors will help retention.

Thursday (Number Day)

On Thursday we have number day, we are learning the numbers 1 - 10 as my students are still very young. Currently, some students are still having difficulties identifying which number is which. I am using flashcards, and matching activities so the children can get used to what the numbers look like and the order. I believe the app below will further their learning and help them retain more.

Endless Numbers

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/endless-numbers/id804360921
This app has number tracing, matching, filling in the blank, and counting. The tracing is interactive as there is an arrow that guides the child to trace the number. This interactive feature will help children learn how to write numbers faster compared to writing on paper, especially the young ones as it is still difficult to grasp how to write.

Friday (Book Day)

On Friday we have book day, I usually choose a book that is linked to the weekly theme. After reading the book the children do a craft linked to the book. I do feel that I would not apply technology during this activity as the purpose is to cover the weekly theme. Although, during the learning center we have a reading center. I would want to apply the use of these apps during this time as it allows children to choose a book they are interested in and read at their own pace. My students are still unable to read and there are only two teachers including me. At times most of the children want to read and they come up to us asking us to read, but we would tell them they have to take turns. I feel that using technology during this time will help us tackle this issue.

Read Along Kids Books & Math
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/books-for-kids-learn-to-read/id532545204
This app has books that are narrated which are perfect for my students as they don't know how to read yet. There is a wide range of topics for books such as social-emotional learning and self-development.

Endless Reader
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/endless-reader/id722910739
I feel this is a great app, it introduces sight words, and is perfect for the little ones because there are animations with each word. For example, the word dog has a dog so they can grasp the word and what it means.

Modified Lesson Plan - Blended Learning

I choose to incorporate blended learning in my classroom as my students are still young and need to be guided, even in simple things such as how to press the button or move things on the screen. Although, I feel that once they have gained that ability and grasp how technology works they are able to learn at their own pace and freely. I also believe children will benefit from a physical classroom and activities, which allow peer learning. At this age it is vital to learn how to interact with others and form special bonds.
