• building from early years vs. focus on music in secondary schools in some countries

• Focus on teaching is a challenge in schools without support system

• intercultural work is not always implemented in teachers training (also diversity in the teachers community)

Be aware that advocacy has many levels:

• Local-national-European

• External advocacy/Internal advocacy

• Curriculum development, policy papers, but also practical examples like Eudamus

Politicians may in some cases better understand by experiencing rather than reading about it (show it, don't tell it).

We must not forget to integrate our sector into the larger societal agendas.

Advocacy processes can be different

• Bottom-up or top-down or a combination.

• It is important to include the educational practitioners.

• How can the sector speak with one, strong voice?

• Sometimes it is important to communicate the big vision, sometimes you are more successful by showing the next, little important step

  
  

Communication and making advocacy is a profession in itself

• Gain visbility through effective communication (framing, priming, tone of voice etc.)

• Do not tell what you need from the politicians but ask how you can help.
