Because of deforestation, increased agricultural production, and mining, compared to other regions the northeastern region has had a greater loss of tree cover than. The places with the highest documented species densities also have the highest losses in tree cover, those are home to birds, reptiles, and amphibians. These have negative implications to the biodiversity as these harm the habitat of species relying on the trees for shelter.</p>]]></description>
