In the mornings she would work for the school board, and in the afternoons worked for a lawyer who was the administrative head of police departments throughout the country. rosa left Germany and married an American soldier in 1948. the soldier was stationed in Germany he was stationed back in America after the war.

Her father was living in England when they met. They married and settled in England, where Rosa's older brother, John, was born. Shortly after World War I, the family moved to southern Germany .  rosa was able to buy her mom a radio as a gift when she got a job and started earning money .
