If I am not mistaken, it affected well at 46 people. But it costs $2. 000 000 per one person. Doctor of the Medical University of Missouri of USA says that "yes it may be expensive, but Person will not longer stay at hospital, he or she does not suffer from the illness, and he or she can be happy in life. It worth to spend that money". The Vertex company is working on the drug that helps people to cure them.

This disease is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people around the world. .Mostly widespread in Africa and India. People with this disease carry unhealthy cells, which can cause pain and bone damage in the human body. Many children with the most severe form of the disease die before the age of 5. Vertex Pharmaceuticals and CRISPR Therapeufics creates a new treatment called exa-cel. The treatment involves changing the genetic material of the patient's blood cells, DNA. The goal is to help the body produce healthy blood cells. And this Vertex study reported that 46 people were treated.

In the given article said about possible cure for sickle cell disease. So it is a genetic blood sickness. And for its cure they offers editing DNA and they would attack its genetic root. Most of people who carries this disease are africans, black americans and middle easterners.

Also scientists believe carrying SCD helps to protect against the malaria. When baby is born. They born with healthy blood cells but between them there will be unhealthy ones. Throughout the time, unhealthy ones infect the healthy cells. It gives to carrier pain that hard to bear. So most of them hospitalized. This cure is called "EXA-CEL".

When they receive the treatment, stem cells are removed from their blood and the gene-editing tool CRISPR is used to remove the switching gene. Drug kills the unhelthy, damaged cells and changes the stem cells.

Vertex said during the study, 46 got treatment and 30 of them are observed at least 18 months.

Victoria Gray is the first person who got the treatment. He is giving wrong information, and I want to say that he is making a wrong diagnosis. What do you think is the reason for this? The reason is that intelligences such as artificial intelligence, Google, Chat GPT are black and white. they think that there is a difference in the size of people's bodies, but this is a wrong theory. We can call it racism in one word. Humanity is never different in terms of its structure, the difference is whether it is white or black. no. My personal opinion is that today, mainly in the field of medicine, it is better to talk to a face-to-face doctor and get his advice, that is, I think that the use of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine is not appropriate.

In context I understand that using AI in medicine might cause serious problems. Especially when diagnosing, giving aid to black patients. Doctors of Standford university say that they are working on solving this problem. AI diagnoses and cures white patients well, while it is giving less pills to black patients which is not enough to be cured.

Also at the same time, ChatGPT, google bard are not recommended to use for medical purposes.

Garance Burke and Matt O'brien reported hospitals and healthcare systems are moving to artificial intelligence (AI). We can know about this from research conducted by the Stanford School of Medicine in California. However, researchers warn that AI tools can be life-threatening for patients. these artificial intelligence tools have been called "racist" and are especially dangerous for black people. The study was published in the journal Digital Medicine. Researchers report that when asked questions about black patients, the AI models provided incorrect information. and some experts worry that these systems could harm people and reinforce centuries-old forms of racism. Four tools were tested in the report.

They were ChatGPT and GPT-4 from OpenAl; Google Bard and Anthropic Claude. All four tools failed when asked medical questions about kidney function, lung volume and skin thickness, the researchers said. Dr. Roxana Daneszow of Stanford University says she and others have been working to remove this misinformation, and it worries her. Even some of Doneshjou's patients have health problems asked a chatbot to help. Researchers and companies say such AIs cannot replace medical professionals. google also noted that they should "avoid relying on Bard for medical advice."
